3D Ribbon / Wire

A fully customizable 3D Ribbion/wire for after effects. I used Trapcode Particular to solve this problem I recently had on a project. A few expressions, some tweaks here and there, and this is was my solution. It may not seem very exciting as a scene file but it is more about the functionality that Im offering you and hope you can find some creative uses of it.
You can find the scene file below. Have a play around and see what you can come up with. Try parenting a camera to the Start Point or End Point and see what possibilities come from that. I hope you find it useful and let me know if you use it in any projects or come up with any other useful effects with it.

  3. 3d ribbon in after effects using trapcode particular

[...] This is pretty sweet, using the trapcode particulars plugin in after effects to create a ribbon that has two movable ends like the beam effect would behave. You can download the AE file to try out here. [...]

    Hi there,
Great stuff and thank you for sharing !
I’ve a pre-emptive question: do you think I can have a custom design on the ribbon? I have a ribbon with horizontal stripes and dots travelling along the edges. hmm I shall give it a go.
    cheers
