I like to use the Golden Ratio in my work when ever I can as I find it helps me concentrate on the composition of a piece and focus the viewers attention accordingly. I made this preset a while back now and am offering it up for use in your projects. There is a ton of information about the Golden Ratio on the web, some of it is a bit to in depth but still an interesting read. Download the preset and place in your After Effects Preset Directory and then inside After Effects search for “Golden Ratio” in the Effects and Presets Panel. Double click the preset to add the preset to your compositions and start to apply the Golden Ratio to your compositions.

is it compatible with cs 5?
I built this version of the preset in CS5 so I should think so? Whats the problem you are having if any?
I setup a comp for instance at 960 x 540 and create a new solid. Apply the preset to the new solid, the solid shifts off the comp window and nothing appears.
The preset uses a Shape Layer to produce the GoldenSpiral etc. So all you need to do is set up your comp, search for the preset in the Effects and Presets tab and then double click it. This will then make a shape layer with all the controls you need. It was made in a 1920×1080 comp so you’ll need to scale it down in the controls to fit your comp. Hope that helps.

Does it not work in CS4? Its made only using shape layers so it should be fine?
